Quick Summary
Recommended. Highly competent supermini that shares its underpinnings with the VW Polo and Skoda Fabia. Excellent standard equipment and keen pricing.
Full Road Test
A handsome supermini offering one of the most complete packages in the segment. The well constructed cabin comes filled with lots of standard-fit kit, and there's a pleasingly 'sporty' feel to the firm chassis settings. The basic 1.2-litre petrol engine lacks punch, and although the 1.4 units (in either 75bhp or 100bhp tune) are perfectly adequate, it's the diesel motors that win the headlines: choose between 100bhp and 130bhp versions of the VW group 1.9-litre turbodiesel. The TDi 100 is rapid, but the TDi 130 Sport is a rocketship - easily the quickest car in the range, while still offering a claimed 56mpg.
